We manufacture our handrails at the time they're ordered instead of keeping a large
inventory. This reduces the risk of any potential damage or warping. And when you order one of our standard handrails, the rail and its radiused returns are crafted from a single, solid piece of wood--no miter cuts or glue joints.
Our DIY Handrail Kit is also unique to HandrailsPlus, designed for hobbyists and DIYers wanting to try their hand at building their own rail.
We strive to start and complete orders as quickly as possible, typically within 3 business days. Note that when your order is finally shipped it can take up to 8 business days to arrive, depending on your location.
Yes. Our solid wood handrails are sanded smooth but arrive unfinished, giving you the freedom to choose the paint or stain that best matches your decor. If you're painting a rail, it's a good idea to use a primer first. And if you're applying a stain, always use a wood conditioner, especially on softer woods like pine, etc.
We offer a $19.95 flat rate shipping cost to anywhere in the contiguous USA.

Shipping a package over 8 feet long can incur substantial shipping fees. As a result, the longest rail we ship in one piece is our 94" rail (2" under 8 feet). Any rail longer than that will be cut into two equal sections before it's shipped. These longer rails have pre-drilled holes (and provided pocket screws) for attachment.
